Boniface Mapiye

Growing up in the small mining town of Gaths Mine in Mashava, I was captivated by the world of industry long before I understood it. The towering machines, the endless conveyors weaving through the operations, and the hum of activity sparked a curiosity that never left me. I wanted to know what made everything move. Electricity, of course—but where did it come from?
In school, the pieces began to fall into place. Hwange Thermal Power Station, Kariba Hydropower Station, and the broader concept of power generation lit a spark in me. I still remember the fascination I felt seeing a lone windmill on a farm or watching my uncle power a small radio with a solar panel so we could listen to football at our rural home. Those moments shaped me.
It’s no surprise that my final‑year university project was the design of a solar tracker. And it’s no surprise that today, I’ve gone on to construct two solar farms and a battery energy storage system. Renewable energy still lights me up.
My motivation for building a business is simple: to turn passion into impact. I want to contribute meaningfully to the energy transition, here in Australia, back home in Africa, and anywhere the world needs cleaner, smarter power solutions.
My career has prepared me for this next chapter, and I believe our shared experiences will strengthen the journey ahead. There is always more to learn, but I’m ready.

With a solid foundation in renewable energy systems, policy analysis, and sustainability practices, I aim to contribute to global efforts in achieving energy security and environmental sustainability. My goal is to work closely with governmental bodies, providing insights and strategic recommendations to navigate the challenges and opportunities in transitioning towards a greener, more sustainable energy future."
